SECTION 101 and HONORS
I will not be in class today. Here is your assignment, which should help you prepare for Friday's test.
Write a paragraph on each of the religions we have been studying. You may use the textbook handouts that we have been highlighting, my PowerPoint, and your own notes as resources. Here is an example of a good, solid paragraph:
Christianity was founded after Jesus’ death. Historians’ accounts vary, but he was probably born around 7 to 2 BC, and died around 30 - 36 AD. After his death, his followers (particularly Saul/Paul) spread the word about his teachings. Christianity is monotheistic (one God in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Their holy book is the New Testament (Bible). There are approximately 2.2 billion adherents (followers). Most are from Europe, the Americas, and southern Africa. The central figures of this religion are Jesus Christ (historically) and the Pope (currently).
If you do that for all five religions (please don't just copy mine), that should get you ready for the last test of the semester this Friday. Thank you, and I will see you soon.
